They spread out the wing. On a female all the feathers were the same length. On the Male the first 3 are different, longer or shorter. Sorry, I don't remember. But the firs few are not the same length.- MrsShag

Ok, they let me exchange the chick for another one. I am getting them from Sumner-Byrd Farm and they are so nice! They showed me how the feathers on the wings are different for a hen and a roo. Do you cover your run?
Hi PurpleGizmo I have fencing on the top of my run because We have very mild weather and lots of hawks. If I lived where you live I might cover it, because of all the rain. I grew up in Buckley WA- MrsShag
