They spread out the wing. On a female all the feathers were the same length. On the Male the first 3 are different, longer or shorter. Sorry, I don't remember. But the firs few are not the same length.
Ok, they let me exchange the chick for another one. I am getting them from Sumner-Byrd Farm and they are so nice! They showed me how the feathers on the wings are different for a hen and a roo. I didn't know that. They swear that they are pure Ameraucana but I don't care. As long as they...
I will need to return the chick if it is a roo and if I do it right away I can get another the same age to replace this is one. Thank You I was told that it is an Ameraucana.
Hi PurpleGizmo
I have fencing on the top of my run because We have very mild weather and lots of hawks. If I lived where you live I might cover it, because of all the rain. I grew up in Buckley WA
Hello everyone! I just found this. I am about 30 min out side of Raleigh.
Thanks for starting this, keeping an eye on this thread.
I may have a couple of bantam hens to trade/sell in a couple of weeks depending on if they can join my standard flock peacefully or not
Well, I couldn't stand it so I went out and got the shovel. Got almost all of the snow out of their run and as soon as I opened the coop door they came right out. Have I spoiled my chickens now too???
The white one is a Shih-tzu and the black one is a Pekepoo.
They are great doggies.
I see you have a puppy dog too, I would have more if I had more room in the house.
My girls won't come out at all. I was thinking something was wrong with them but I guess they are just "chicken" I keep seeing their little heads poke out of the coop but they just go right back in. This is day 2 of them not coming out even for a minute.
