There are now 11 live babies roaming around the stall! Three eggs were left over and candled this morning, and two were empty, one was dead..so 11 out of 15 eggs were hatched into healthy baby chickies! Wooooo hooooo!! Here are a few more pics~

It does ring true that if you just leave them alone, and let Mama do her job, she does! We had one squashed one (RIP little man) But the others are SO TINY and so cute and running around crazy...
Well today and yesterday I waited in anticipation, but didn't move the Mama, or make her get testy, I just left her alone. (Like you all have suggested to everyone) and she did it! There are at least 6 beautiful new baby chickies under her!! Here are a few pics for the photo addicts like ME :-)...

I have a 7 month old hen setting on a clutch of 17 rightnow. Well see what becomes of this. Last time we had 4 out of 17, and one didn't make it, and one other ate by the owl. They are TINY!Two are alive and well~

I had fun recieving our first set of 25 chickies. They were an "blend that may include exotics"??? from McMurray. All were healthy, great dispositions, but we ended up with 9 hennies and one cock when it was all said and done. We want to order a new batch of pullets anytime that would be good...
I got some very large and nice fluffy bath towels last year from WMart, and I bought a bunch to sew on a nice strip of decorative fabric on the bottom of each. Will make a nice set for each family member.
I might ad some trim or something else to jazz up some of the towels. I have to make sure...

Oregon really is beautiful. We do get great views here on our property. Most of all I get to let my chxns run free on whatever acre they choose. Being in central oregon, we like to get to the coast as often as we can. :-)
