Thank you for your reply. She’s the first in our flock to lay and we have wooden eggs in there already.

    Egg-eating pullet

Our Olive Egger laid her first egg today... she actually laid two! While watching her in the coop cam, she looked so calm and was still tossing bedding on her back. 12 week old Ameraucana, Pullet or Cockerel?

You’re right! Upon closer look, they’re just pointy patterns on rounded hackle feathers. Good eye! Looking forward to some pretty colored eggs :)

5 weeks old- males or females?

Thank you everyone for your comments! At 12 weeks, they still looks like pullets so far. And I think you’re right about the Olive Egger- she must be a legbar cross. Her crest is coming in nicely!

She definitely could be an EE. I’ve seen pictures of EE who look similar. We just hope she’s a she :)

Hi Chicken Experts, I posted a couple of weeks ago about my Ameraucana- does she still look like a pullet? She is now officially 12 weeks old. Her hackle feathers look pointy. Is this a breed trait? Thank you for your help!

However, I have pet-sat chickens before and really enjoyed their company. Since purchasing our house, each year we have gotten progressively closer...

5 weeks old- males or females?

Hi, this is my first time raising chickens and would like advice on whether our four 5-week olds may be female or male. We have a Cuckoo Marans, an Olive Egger (Copper Marans x Amerucana), an Amerucana, and a Buff Orpington. We have also been weighing them every few days and although they all...
