    Thank you for your reply, but i done exactly that for just under two weeks!!! Used old dog cages with wire floor, raised off the ground, and they had just food and water. Still broody!

    Im afraid yes. I wondered too about the ventilation and thought it could be the reluctance for them to go in. was thinking to get more ventilation cut into the top ( not roof) and bore a few small holes near to bottom section

    I only just put it in there, normally there's not a perch ( well only a small one about a foot long) they seem to sleep congregated around the entrance door

    Well, i think ground sleepers( thats how they were at the breeders) i had a smaller perch in there before, never seen them use it.. and never seen them use this one.. but they are Silkies so would only be a low perch I believe anyway. Im rolling with ground sleepers lol
