When can my ducklings play outside?

Thanks for your help everyone! It was a really sunny day here in England (for a change) so I took my two babies outside and they loved it! Omlet was a bit cautious at first and jumped on my lap by they soon were running about and splashing in the water having a great time! Thankyou.

When can my ducklings play outside?

Thanks very much for all your advice everyone - I love that pic, so cute!!! If it is sunny again tomorrow I will take them outside. I only have 2 at the moment so hopefully they won't be too hard to manage...!!! I think I will make a pen so that they can't disappear under the bushes and keep an...

When can my ducklings play outside?

I was just wondering when my ducklings can go outside - not permanently as they are still too young - but just to have supervised play. They are running around a lot in the brooder and having fun in there but it's sunny and I think they'd like 10 mins or so in the garden. I'd make sure they...

Drunk Duckling?! Advice please for my wobbly baby

She is so cute! Thanks for showing me the pics I am glad she has turned out ok, like you say, it can be quite distressing to watch them and worry that there is something wrong. Omlet does the same thing, takes a drink and bends his head back and moves it from side to side for quite a while or...

Drunk Duckling?! Advice please for my wobbly baby

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have got some liquid vitamins so hopefully that will do the trick. Omlet seems quite happy but it's not nice seeing him roll about. I wasn't sure if maybe he/she couldn't swallow properly. I think if Omlet remains the odd little character he is he'll fit right in in...

Drunk Duckling?! Advice please for my wobbly baby

Hello! I have 2 indian runner ducklings - one is not yet 24 hours old and the other one is 48 hours old. They have been placed together in the brooder today. Omlet, the older one, is quite a bit bigger than Pip, the younger one and likes to peck at Pip's feet. I don't think it's hurting but how...

Thankyou very much for your advice! Phew!!! I will cut it off. It's so good to be able to ask for advice and I really appreciate your answers. As it is a little weak I have boiled an egg and will feed it a little yolk and hopefully it can join it's brother/sister soon! It is amazing to watch it...

Indian Runner Ducks hatching problems, please advise!

Just an update for you - I just watched the duck that had pipped hatch all by itself!!! (with a little bit of vocal encouragement from me and the other duckling!) So we have 2 little runner ducklings! This one seems a bit weak and it has something pink under it's tail and quite a bit of membrane...

Runner duck hatching problems - advice greatly appreciated please!

They are pretty late - I know they can take up to 30 days but I didn't think it would be longer. The one that pipped has just this minute hatched all by itself! I don't think the other 2 are alive now But we have 2 healthy ducks. Good luck with hatching yours!

Indian Runner Ducks hatching problems, please advise!

Hi both, Thanks so much for getting back to me. I will leave the pipped duckling as it is for now - it is definitely very chirpy and moving about. I can't quite see the beak yet but I will watch out for any abnormalities - thanks for that advice. The temperature has been at about 37.5 degrees...
