Hi all,
Quick follow-up post.
Is it sometimes the case, that after you start treating with Flubenvet (in this case via these), you get a dump of worms in their poop?
It is just the case that last night the girl thatwe think is most affected by these large round worm produced these poops -...
Hi BYC,
Hopefully a simple post.
Do these pictures look like they have a large roundworm (ascaridia galli) in them to you?
(final image above from Damerow)
Thanks
Thank you @Eggcessive and @dawg53.
Ah. Yes. That makes sense. Intestinal lining, not worms.
And lining both, could be normal, or be a warning sign of something else if in larger chunks (from Damerow [image attached]).
To you, are these larger chunks or not? For me, it's hard to tell. I...
Hi all,
Just wanted to report back on this issue from last year.
So we sent off some of her poop to the chicken vet and it came back with signs of "Capillaria" eggs. (image 00).
We started a weeks course of Flubenvet pellets (image 02) and repeated again one month later as per the...
Thanks for the quick response @Eggcessive. Great questions.
> What does she normally eat?
Normal pellets. And she free ranges, so things in the garden that the other 2 girls also have access to.
> Do you feed treats?
In the evening, they tend to get a small number of oats, and some Vermex...
Hi BYC,
I'd really value your thoughts.
In our small flock, we have a black rock chicken.
She is about 18 months old. She seems healthy and active. She enjoys her food. She is laying. Healthwise many things are good. But during the night, she sometimes does some crazy poop.
She will produce...
Thanks all.
@coach723 @MGG
Yes, really interested that the Wyandotte originated and was standardised in America... but Barred seems to be a UK thing.
Thanks @Vickischics
Will do. The Vaseline on her comb is already improving the look of it.
Always grateful for the replies BYC. Thank you.
First... (and somewhat unexpectedly), on her breed! :)

So Barred Wyandotte's seem to be recognized by the Poultry Club of Great Britain:

Hi all,
Any thoughts about what is going on with our Wyandotte?
TLDR: She injured her left leg over six months ago which she copes with. Now has odd build up on her right leg.
1) What type of bird, age and weight.
Type: Wyandotte.
Age: Approaching 5 yrs.
Weight: Normal (2.5kg).
Comparison to...
Hi all,
Quick question.
Attached are two photos of an egg from one of our chickens (a Rhode Island Red) in the nest box.
First shot - top of egg. Second shot - egg rotated to reveal the bottom. Notice the chippings of hemp stuck to it. (we use Aubiose Hemp Bedding in the boxes).
We have 3...
