As I think about the situation of receiving money for replacing your birds at the age they were at the time of the slaughter. I agree with Raz as it was your work raising and caring for the birds. It is obvious the owner of the dogs, hasn't done anything to correct the problem since the last...

Sarah, I think you coop remodeling is something to "Crow" about! Glad I am sorry about your lost. In May, I lost my drake peking duck to something that carried him across the yard a hundred feet to leave a small pile of feathers. It was the healthy duck and not the crippled Pekin hen, so I...

Congratulations to all who did show their chickens. It's a feat I doubt I will attempt to do! Raz, sorry to hear of your law troubles. Perhaps you could contact Farm Bureau agency, they have been fighting all kinds of farm related problems with the uneducated city folks. Just a thought.

I have been pulling weeds and giving the weeds to the chickens. Last night while collecting eggs my cockle Welsummer rooster decided to attack me. Now I have cuts full lengthen of my left leg. I had him challenge me earlier last week. But I chased him right back to the open part of the run...

Hello, I am a new member to BackYard Chickens.

But an old hand at raising chickens I currently have 4 jumbo Pekin ducks 2 males and two females, a pair of regular Pekin ducks. I just got 4 Buff Orpington chicks as a replacement for the twelve RIR chicks that two small dogs killed. Repair the new run to prevent another lost to 2.5...
