    Is this Poo normal?

Just got some baby chicks in 2 days ago. About 2-3 weeks old. One seems to have watery poo (no blood)-pic below. Is this normal? Should I be doing something for it? She seems to be acting fine eating and drinking and active.

    Pooping in Nesting box

Hi All Hoping someone can give me some insight on the lastest chicken behavior. I live in Orlando, FL and have 3 Red Star hens approx. 2.5 years old. They appear to be molting and egg laying is almost non-existant. I am finding however that they are suddenly pooping in the nesting boxes...

    Molting or parasites

Hi. I have 3 red star hens that are 2 years old. I've noticed one losing quite a bit of feathers a few weeks ago and now another one is. There has been a decrease in egg production. I checked the vent and down the shaft of the feathers of the most recent feather loser and did not see...

hens pecking open there eggs & eating them

I just started having this problem a month ago. My hens are 2 years old so I really don't want to get rid of them and butchering them is not an option for me. I saw someone mentioned putting wooden eggs from the craft store in the nest, it helped a little. I got one egg unpacked on Thurs and...

    Need Help with Divas

Hi... I have a question on Hen behaviors. On Monday, one of my chickens was attacked by my dog. Thank goodness she wasn't too injured. Just lost a lot of feathers. I separated her from the rest of the chickens (I have 3 total - all 2 years old) to make sure she was well. She has been...

What to put on ground of run and coop???

Hi! I have three 25 week old Red Star pullets and was thinking about what i should be putting down on the floor of their run and coop. I've currently been using coastal hay, but was reading some threads on here and are warning against using hay due to crop impaction. So now i'm second...

    Stressing about Mean girls

Hi all... Well...i've been having a little trouble with my 3 girls getting along (Red Stars about 25 weeks old). Within last 2-3 weeks, Ruby and Topaz have been picking on my favorite hen, Garnet. I have felt so sorry for her (she was hiding out in the coop to get away from them) that i...

    Traumatic Day-Need Advice

Darn it! In the afternoon, i let the chickens out to roam and decided to look over Garnet again, and i did find a puncture wound on her back. It was not bleeding but i did put some hydrogen perioxide on it (hope that is ok???). I will definetly have to separate the girls for longer until she...
