    Splayed leg or something else?

Thank you. That was why I didn't just want to splint up her legs if it wasn't needed. It was just me being cautious, trying to keep her feet under her. The first pic was meant to show how big she is for her age.

    Splayed leg or something else?

There are blankets down, I had just been holding her, and I am not sitting on her blankets for obvious reasons. Most of my floor is covered for them. Her legs are not twisted, she likes to sleep with one or both kicked out like that. She has been doing that since I brought her home. But she has...

Have to kill all my chickens tomorrow!

Oh I cannot even begin to imagine the heartache. I am so sorry. I wish I had better words, but will say a prayer for you.

    Howdy Y'all!!

It kinda is. Along with the 4 chickens, I have 6 ducks. At the 6 month age there are 2 Cayuga, 2 Ancona, one of them is handicap, 1 Blue Swedish, and I just got a Pekin, she is about 10 wks old. She is going to be a support duck for my handicap Ancona so I can take him away from the overbearing...

    Silver Appleyard Decibel level

I have a Cayuga that I call my sentry, she is an alarm. She is just loud, and ironically her name is Little One. But she always answers when I call to check on them when they are free ranging.

    Unique Rooster

Does he kinda coo like a dove? I have a Calico/porcelain Orpington. About 10 week's, and they make unique sounds. Looks close.

    Howdy Y'all!!

Welcome. I am not on here as much as I should be, but I have always found helpful and quality info. Good luck with your babies. I have 2 barnyard mix chickens almost 6 months, and just got 2 Calico/Porcelain Orpingtons, they are about 10 week's old, and going to be interesting. But my heart...

    Splayed leg or something else?

This little one is almost 3 months, I bought her 11/6. It was clear from all the little brown scabs on the bottom of her feet and back of her knees (hocks I think) that she spent the first 2 months in a cage. Those have cleared up, but she is growing to fast, and is now having issues on my...

    Ducks run help please!

Yes I do, I see him/her trying to put it down, just cannot bend it. I see him just get tired from hoping and have to lay down. I am going now to Tractor Supply to get some VitB and hopefully some treats too. I just cannot accept no, for an answer. I just emailed another vet, 2.5 hours away. But...

I am new to chickens, but not to life, so I know to ask questions? Are you knitting something for this little one? Just curious, not judging. If I don't ask I don't learn.

    Ducks run help please!

Twisted leg outta the egg, finally get a vet to see her. Put on a soft splint to twist foot forward. It worked slightly. But the leg was straight in the splint for a week. Now the knee is tight, and she cannot bend on her own, but I can. The vet just said to let her just hop on one foot and give...

    Ducks run help please!

Sorry I have duckling with a bum leg not on here daily like I wish I could be. Pardon the tall grass this isn't being used right now due to predators. It's just lumber on 4x4.

    Ducks run help please!

I put mine up on base to lift off the ground. I noticed with the pool right on the ground they were using the pool water to make mud to dig for bugs, when not in the pool. Raising just above their heads helped a lot. Still wet from splashing, but not as bad. They just need a ramp to get in and out.

    New rescue, need advise.

Sorry for the delayed update. I took Toph back to the vet Wednesday. Apparently when we were they Monday she didn't realize this was going to be a chershed pet worth fighting for. I live in a very rural area, and probably just thought it was just part of an agriculture flock. Anyway, there is a...
