So the bators are coming into the house this week for a good cleaning again and I just ordered a bunch of parts for my second sportsman to get it all working the way I want it. It's almost time to get the first batch of bantams in. And wait impatiently for my Hungarian Partridge eggs to arrive...

First duckling has pipped! Hopefully the seven others hatch out fine.

I started with 57 eggs, mixed chicken and duck. Of those 13 were duck, 11 were supposed to be mixed red and white chicken and the rest were bantams. There are only 8 duck eggs still in the bator the rest were not fertile. And 2 of the chicken were infertile.And out of the 42 chicken, 6 are still...

Got up this morning to 13 new little ones in the incubator.

Thank you. I hope so too. Pip count is now at ten. Oh my they are busy in there. Good thing my ducklings aren't hatching for another week my bator is a busy place right now.

This is my first batch of chicks and ducklings, and so far we have 7 hatched out, I had to help one this morning but he was huge. I have at least 7 that have pipped. It's so exciting!

I have one little guy hatched out at about 7:15 tonight it's now almost 11 should I take him out of the incubator and move him into the brooder or just leave him alone for the night? I really thought I had a very early bird but after looking it up here bantams hatch earlier then other chickens...

So I had a little surprise tonight my first chick hatched tonight! It's only day 18! He's the proverbial early bird? He seems healthy enough peeping and strolling around the incubator.

I waited until today to candle my eggs and they are looking good. Do you all candle all of your eggs at this time? I only candled about 5 or 6 of them, should I have candled all of them? I also only candled two of my ducks and they too are looking good as well. But should I have done all of them...

I am going to be setting my eggs on Sunday morning. Now my question is my chick eggs need to go on lock down on day 18 but my ducklings will still need turning at that time will it hurt the chicks to open the incubator for the two or three minutes to turn my ducklings. And also when I up the...

If I'm hatching ducks and chicks in the same incubator with auto turners when would I stop running? I have a sportsman incubator is there a way to disconnect two shelves and leave the other one still turning my duck eggs?
