Do I absolutly need a rooster with my hens?

I had two large breed roosters and had to keep them seperated. I finally sold both, since they would over mate with my tiny silkies. Will my free ranging hens be o.k.? How should I care for them now?

    Bearded Silkie chicks In NY

Do you ship eggs? I had only 3 bearded silkies. Then a family of racoons wiped out my flock. I would like to replace the silkies once I get things more secure.

Are small-tiny blood drops safe to eat?

Some of my customers and I, have found tiny blood drops in my eggs. I just dig them out with the shell, and go on. But they are asking. What do you say/do? (And yes I know that means they are fertile. But is that bad? )

    Silkies

My roosters are very good and protect their ladies well. There ate 2 differences between Silkies and others breeds is that, due to hawks getting them, they need a covered run, and I believe, More heat in extreme cold.
