Hello, for the people who have given me advice I have to say that in the few minutes I went to get her some more things she passed. She passed after struggling out of what I wrapped her in with both her eyes open. hopefully from now on all the chicks we have will be healthy
Thank you for the advice with the heat pack :) I do have to dip her beak into the water tho I don’t have to force it down, she takes a bit and tries to drink it. I’ve also noticed that she’s making an odd noise and is slowly wiggling back into what I can only describe as what she would look like...
I’m keeping her as warm as I can though we don’t have a brooder so it’s definitely not enough but I’m thinking of putting her under a currently broody hen once she gets a little better. I’m pretty sure we have something like nutri drench so I’ll get that. I’ve also been holding a bottle cap to...
One of our hens hatched in the dumbest sport where no water or food was available to her chicks, we’ve given them food and water and all seems fine besides one chick who’s barely standing up and has her eyes closed. She’s chirping a decent amount and occasionally wriggling but she’s mainly on...
Thank you :)) I was a little worried since I’ve never dealt with an aggressive animal before the most being a rabbit I had when I was little who despised the world and everyone in it. I’m glad to know he’s not mad at me probably just a little grumpy cause I didn’t say hi to him when I woke up.
I have a muscovy drake who, other than just before, is an absolute sweetheart who mostly just nibbles on fingers (a bit more aggressive than nibbling but it isn’t biting more like a toddler chewing on everything that fits in its mouth) he’s bitten my parents before but, as his mum, I just give...
I’d love to get her a friend but it’s hard to find any that have hatched around the same time as her and with her size I don’t want to get any younger than her as she might pick on them and will probably get upset if my attention on her is divided.
Just yesterday we built a new brooder for my duckling, usually she’s pretty good at being quiet and distracts herself with the mirror I have in there to keep her company. But she’s started to get really loud. Whenever I put her in there she starts to cry but unlike every other time she cries she...
Replying to you all ^^
the brooder is at 30 degrees Celsius, she is separated from the duckling as my duckling is two weeks old and likes to nibble on things, she doesn’t sleep all day but more often than her sister and we didn’t buy her but hatched her and her sister from eggs our hen abandoned...
Maybe the temperature is the problem then? We had them in with the duckling for the first two days because we didn’t have a brooder for them yet so it’s been at 30c, I give them new food and water every morning.
