Thank you. I agree, it might have been for the best. Who knows what this baby’s life would have been like. In her short time with us she was VERY loved.
I tried everything I could. Unfortunately this little one did not make it. I was so attached to this little one, just breaks my heart. Thank you for your help/assistance though!
I have a Three day old check, with splayed leg, and a watery eye. The chick hatched on Sunday. On Sunday, I realized that this baby had splayed leg. I made a brace for this baby with vetwrap. His movement was still not good. So I tried to give her some electrolytes. I put her in a separate...
I have a chick thats about 4 weeks old. The only chick that has had pasty butt. I clean his butt frequently. Today when I got off work, I noticed it looked like he had a prolapsed vent. Some clearing liquid was coming from his red very swollen bottom. I submerged his body in warm water. Washed...
He finally hatched. It was a long long night for him. He was for sure shrink wrapped. But he came out with splay leg. We braved his legs for a few days and he is perfect!!
So I can not answer your questions as I am new to this as well, and I have only hatched chicks. I am sorry. I do hope someone is able to help you. And I hope it hatches ok

I had chics hatch out recently. One externally pipped at the bottom similar to yours and he was fine. He hatched quickly and rails once he started zipping.
So in total, I had 5 chicks hatch today. I had five remaining eggs that are still in the incubator. One chick passed away in the shell as I could tell when I candled. I didn’t candle every egg. But I did candle 3. 2/3 had veining in the shell still. So I quickly put all back in to the incubator...
Two out of the three normal sized chicks hatched. Still waiting on one bantam and one regular sized egg. Both have pipped. But I’m afraid my silkies won’t make it. They haven’t moved at all. And it’s too difficult to hear if they are chirping. As I have multiple that are chirping right now...
