Please help! Mama Chicken shaking and falling over - smelly liquid coming from beak when picked up

Thanks - I have read everything I can find but she is refusing to eat or drink anything. I’m not even real sure how to find her crop. If it’s what I think I found - it isn’t overly big but maybe a little squishy. On our way to pick up coconut oil and yeast cream. Really worried it is too late...

Please help! Mama Chicken shaking and falling over - smelly liquid coming from beak when picked up

She did just stand up outta nowhere but is still shaking and falling back down like she is falling asleep standing up. Laid right back down again after about 1-2 minutes standing.

Please help! Mama Chicken shaking and falling over - smelly liquid coming from beak when picked up

Hi I have a mama chicken that started acting really bad really fast this morning. I went out to feed them and change water. She walked over towards me - which she doesn’t do usually ushers the chicks away - and started shaking some like she was cold or going to shake out feathers. She didn’t go...

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

Is your suggestion to get the chick back out to her as soon as dry or to take it back out now even though not fully dry yet?

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

I certainly didn’t take it from her on purpose 😀 truly thought was dead. It was not moving and did not appear to be breathing. I was close to disposal but had set the box I put it in on the counter inside. It was 49 here overnight (cold snap in NW AR this week). Thought it had rolled off for...

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

And we’re up and peeping! Still falling over a lot and super unsteady. Assuming she (going with she since it is certainly the preference) keeps improving- couple questions 1) I have some save a chick probiotics and electrolytes- assuming I should try to get some into her in about 24 hrs? Or...

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

She seems to be taking the three (of the 13 I hatched) adoptees well so far.

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

This has been a rock solid broody through her first set with viable eggs (she went broody in winter and I had to break her after 3 weeks but thought the practice was good). She only gets off the nest every couple of days so when I noticed her out went to check on the eggs and was thinking they...

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

Thanks. It’s in my office so I will be in here all day. Eyes open occasionally and look clear. Flips about a bit curled up. Will keep posting updates because while I want to save if possible- also don’t want to suffer.

Found chick next to nest - thought was dead but started moving

I found this little guy/gal next to broody. Would have been first to hatch. Thought was dead and took out when adding other bator chicks for the hen to adopt. He/she started moving in box when brought indoors (it has been ridiculously cold this week). Put in incubator I just sterilized from...

    Help!! With hatching humidity...

I was a newbie hatching this month as well and just wrapped up 15 of 20 eggs that made it to lockdown. There is a ton of info (and a lot conflicts). I ended up just doing what felt right and it seems to have worked out for me. My humidity jumped really high (like 90% at first when I got a...
