    My black Australorp may have an egg broken inside her. How can you tell? And if so, what do you do? She passed a bit of broken yoke in the nest around 1 p.m. There wasn't much there. I didn't see any shell.

    Hi Fellow Chicken Lovers, I have decided to build a 6 ft tall run with hardware cloth. That decision was settled by other posts! I am going to have treated 2x4's along the ground and the wire will be attached to the 2x4's. What predators might dig under this? How do I prevent it? Thanks!

    sunflower seed with shell; good for chickens?

    I recently heard a talk about sunflower seeds being good for a chicken's feathers. I notice that mine eat them whole, not like a cardinal or other bird, which cracks it and just eats the seed.
