    FIRST time pregnant goat owner

I waited to update you to see what was going to happen through out the day. I used a very small piece of suppository this morning and got a small amount of yellow poo from each of them. Nothing since. I have checked bedding thoroughly. This was around 9:00 this morning. They are eating...

Yes their little butts are clean. Still no poop. They do not seem uncomfortable and seem to be standing and walking with no problem. I have seen no sign of them pushing or trying to poop. I'm worried. They are full sized kids. The male is much bigger then she is. I can't tell you how much...

Thank you for replying. We HAVE baby kids. One little girl and one big boy. Your reply was right on spot. She was not in labor at the time I thought she was and now that it is over I can look back and will be able to recognize all the signs next time. I have no way of weighing her. The...

    Day 158 pregnant goat

My goat Dixie has been showing signs of labor for 6 days now. An experienced goat owner had me go in and feel for a kid in the birth canal. Nothing but thick white goo was found. I checked her hourly through out the night and still nothing. Should I get some one else to go in and check position...

Sick Duck? Strange Behavior... PLEASE HELP

I don't really have a place to separate the males from the females that wouldn't give them the opportunity to fly away. I could bring her in the house and crate her if I absolutely needed to. I don't want her to get injured by the obnoxious males in the mean time. I will have to figure...

Mites, lice and wood stove ashes...

I read in an article that if you put out wood stove ashes for your chickens to dust themselves with that it will kill any mites or lice. Does anyone know if pellet stove ashes would work in the same way where the pellet stove ash has none of the black coal.
