This is Felix (front) and Penelope (Back). We rescued two Muscovy eggs from a local park and Felix hatched from one of them. Felix means "lucky" in Latin, so the name seemed appropriate.
We bought him Penelope a month after Felix hatched, so he wouldn't be lonely.

"Can't wait to see pics I'd hold off on feeding bread, cat treats could be something in the cat treats especially that is causing stomach upset. Dried mealworms, lil green peas [frozen] salad greens and of course her duck feed on top of list should be their food, and be sure they are getting...
Ah, well you've got far more experience than I do. I rescued Felix as an egg from a local park, and he hatched--solid brown. I may be seeing the beginnings of white on his wings now, though.

My first duck ever is a solid chocolate muscovy male. I didn't know they were so rare. He has no white on him anywhere. He is solid brown. Is that unusual?
He is only four weeks old, but very big and I think I have spoiled him. She follows him, he follows me, and he seems to get annoyed and bite her. He is going to have to live outside in a large pen (up until now, he has lived in a huge cardboard box at the end of the bed) and he will be lonely...
