Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Question for all you fellow cold climate Scovy lovers.. It has been a cold one here in Norther Wisconsin so far this winter. I notice a couple of my ducks and all three of my drakes, That the bulb right above there beaks has turned really light. Almost a pale orange.. Is this frost bite ?
Might be, I noticed one of my drakes has the same thing, if you can catch them you might want to put some Vaseline on them to protect their skin. I sprayed Veterycin on my drakes knob since our weather has warmed a bit. Only problem is once they stick their heads into water the problem will be back.

Thanks! It was a lucky shot with my mobile!
Miss Lydia, lovely pic!

I had lots of muscovies and still 2. This spring um going to get lots more. My problem is they wanted.to fly outside the fenced in pond area of 2 acres and waddle across the road. I almost got a citation. I considered raising a different breed but my heart just isn't into other breeds. Other than rounding them up as they mature and clipping their wings, any other suggestions?

You could put nets over your pen to prevent them from leaving, but depending on the size of the area and the quality of the nets, this could turn out expensive and annoying when you have to do chores beneath the nets. Also, you need to make sure that they don't sag too much when soaked with rain water or when covered with snow.

Clipping would be more practical for you.
