Bought new chick but now see foot nodules, bumps?

You said it perfectly, it does look like concrete blobs or pebbles! It didn't seem to hurt her when I tried rubbing them with a cloth drenched w olive oil, nor when I put the vaseline on - it was all I could think of at the time. would neosporine be better?

Bought new chick but now see foot nodules, bumps?

Thanks so very much for replies - sorry can't do pics - these are more like moles on the bottom of the feet or at end of 2 toes where claws should be. But now that you ask, the joints are boney and that where some of the tiny bumps are. The one on the back claw, instead of a toe she has a round...

No protests of any kind picking her up, taking her into the house that she has never been and settling...

Re my potentialy eggbound year old Black Beauty

Was able to secure Black Beauty easily which may not be a good sign. She has been closing her eyes quite a bit. Lubricated vent, tried to detect an egg but felt nothing. I've never checked a hen's private parts but seemed very hot, she felt hot and area very red even down into feathered...
