    Turkey Got the Runs

This is my first go around with turkeys and I did not even think about worming them. I will worm them both and hopefully that will take care of it. Thanks for the " obvious" advice. NH

    Turkey Got the Runs

Been searching and could not find what I need to know so here goes. I have two BB white turkeys that are ten weeks old. One has had runny poo for a week ( that I noticed). Its usually a dark green color. NOT yellow, clear or creamy. She ( ?) seems just fine otherwise. Very active , very vocal...

    Fighting

Thank you both for your responses. I was hoping that would be what was going on and now I feel better about leaving them home alone ( under the watchful eye of the beagle ). nh

    Fighting

I separated them last night for a few hours before locking them up together for the night. They seem to be getting along just fine. I guess my question is should I just let them fight it out and get it done and over with & decide who the BIG Turkey is. I should add that these are my only two...

    Fighting

My two BB Whites are starting to fight. They are pushing each other around , peckng each other and latching onto the others neck / gullet. Is this normal and will / may anyone get hurt. These two have been together since birth and have always gotten along just great. They are only 8 weeks old ...

    clean turkey pen with lime?

I just stuck several metal fence posts into my yard and used a 4' x 50' roll of chicken wire. One is under an apple tree and the other shoots off their main pen. With only having two birds, letting them out as much as I can and alternating " runs" it never gets bad and the grass is green...

Jive Turkey is growing so fast

Jive is lookin just fine! I see he has some colors in his feathers. Nice! Have you tried giving him a small sea shell to play with? My two just love pecking at them and stealing them from each other. It will not be long and the chickens will be looking up to Jive.

    clean turkey pen with lime?

I hope Sandrachx does not mind me jumping in on this thread. Remember this is my first go around with birds . I keep my two BBW in a 4x8x 4(H) pen at night. I leave a small florescent light on for them at night. I also have two other lights for heat depending on how cold it is at night( last...

3 month old turkey with cold

Can someone please explain the "shot of Tylan" to me. I am very new to raising birds, got my first birds seven weeks ago. Is this a needle( uhg) type shot ? Should I have it on handi? Do I get it at the Farm store or Vets? I only have two BBW and want to keep them around for a while. NH

    Turkeys helping with the laundry??!!

Sometimes they make doing chores a real pain. They tend to get under foot a bit. Nothing like trying to split wood and have a turk land on your splitting block. I wonder if I can get them to do that in November?

    Newbie Questions

Thanks Harp, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I am not sure why I decided to get Turkeys since I never raised birds before ( just cats & dogs). They sure are neat though. I am sure I probably fuss over them more than I should. I will make sure they are under cover if there is a chance of...

    Newbie Questions

I have tried searching but keep getting distracted by all the interesting posts. So I have a few newbie questions. I heard that Turkeys should have there shoulders higher than their rear ends when eating & drinking. Is this correct? My two BBW seem to have no problem eating & drinking out of...

Hey All from Newbe in New Hampshire

I have been checking out this forum ever since I got my BBW turkey poults. It has been an uphill learning curve over the last six weeks and you all have helped a lot. I can see already that these are not my last birds. Harry & Althea just love hanging out with my wife, son & I. They like the cat...
