*BRAG WARNING*
Yup! He's an Ackbash/ Mountain Pyrenese mix. He sleeps in the hallway so he can watch everyone while we sleep, makes sure he knows where we all are. He guards the cats, and when we got the chickens, he guarded them too. (Well, after he figured out what they were. Then he slept next to their brooder all day, and on the stair landing when we went up to bed.) He is a little unnerved by the chickens, but he likes sitting outside with them and they stop and listen when he barks.
"Whats going on?"
"That! Person! Is! Walking! Down! The! Street!"
"Oh. Okay."
Finley is a livestock guardian, so he loves his chickens as much as he loves me, and although he is really a big gentle giant, he does not let anything, anyone or anybody into the yard without sniffing them down and keeping a close eye on them the whole time they are here. He chased off a dog that wen for my bantam a while back ago, when they were free ranging in the front yard. He even scared off robins and crows when they were little, just to be safe, and kept the cats away from them, too- while still guarding the cats at the same time. It always surprises me how much he really knows what is going on, and what needs to be done in order to keep his family safe. He is the best dog ever.
