Do Buff Orpington chickens and Road Island Reds get along well together? Do Road Island Reds do well in sub tropical climates? I live in Lower Louisiana so it gets very hot and humid around here.
I was thinking about making some toys for my chickens.
Even chickens need a lil entertainment too.
Does anybody have any ideas for chicken toys?
I was thinking maybe some toys similar to parrot toys like a rope with shinny bells on it.
I was thinking about a swing roost too but would that be...
The coop design looks great. I live in lower Louisiana and my husband's design is similiar to ya'lls but I didnt think about how far out to put our roof to keep the rain out. So thanks for the idea.
I've heard of putting the really tight chicken mesh down under the whole run and securing it up the sides too then burying it so that the whole run is secure. I might do that with mine.
Oh thanks for the idea about the 2x4's i've never heard of that but I think I'll do that for my chickens too.
It gets really hot and humid where I live so would it be best if I install a ventilation fan in my coop so it will stay dry and kinda cool? I plan on getting some Buff Orpingtons...

I live in Louisiana so the weather gets really humid and hot around here during the summer. My question is If I got some Buff Orpingtons would they do well where I live?
