I am starting to think I will never get eggs!!
My girls are six months old. (Well...I brought them home five & a half months ago). I have yet to get an egg. Now that winter is on its way, (its still 70 degrees here in CA ) I am wondering if that will delay egg production further.

I just bought my first bag of scratch. My chickens are about three months old and have been eating only chick starter feed. (other than bugs) I am not sure how to properly use the scratch. Do I mix it in with their starter feed? Do I toss some into their run?

Okay....So, I have taken the advice of many on here regarding my Brahma runt. Seperated her, tried scrambled eggs, yogurt, etc. She still BARELY eats, drinks a little, poops okay. She just doesn't grow!
Any other ideas?

My wife and I just had an awesome moment of laughing our heads off....We just fed our five to six week old girls, (still in the brooder) baby crickets for the first time. THEY WENT NUTS!!!
They were very nervous at first, but soon warmed up to them...Then it was on! One would pick up a cricket...

So I saw on here that cedar shavings are bad to use as bedding?
I dont know what type of shavings mine are. :o
The bag just says "Wood Shavings", and it doesent smell like cedar.
Should I be worried?
