Okay so I posted about my sickly rooster about a month ago. I took him in to get a necropsy 2 weeks after posting. They say I have mild IB. I am not really familiar with it. I am ready to cull the 12 birds he was penned with, as I do not want to endanger my others. Is culling necessary? or can...
Unfortunately i am almost certain this was a respiratory infection. Half of my flock is showing symptoms. I am going to cull the rooster to get a necropsy done. Hope I don't have to start all over.
2 of my birds had a slight cough, so I immediately got some electrolytes and some terra vet, now I read that it damages eggs as far out as 21 days, but I also read it's less than a week. Then I read a different view from an fda study saying that tetracycline isn't harmful and that tossing eggs...
Sorry I am getting to this so late. I now believe I do have a respiratory disease in my coop. First it was just the rooster getting sick looking and now one of the hens has a raspy cough. :( What do I do? Should i make a new thread?
I will post a picture away. None are acting any different, it is only him.
I will look into it, I have never dealt with it before.
I am hoping it isn't his time yet, I have since his incubator days when I was in 6th grade.
I put them in about a week ago, I think 6 days. I didn't quarantine, because these were chickens who all free range on my property, just on opposite sides. None have been sick, or have mites, or anything like that. They have just never been together, they may have mingled before, but there coops...
Hey yall I have an EE rooster who has always been on top of everything, eyes to the sky, head turning every which way, comes running if one of his girls even makes a peep. Well he is about 8yrs old, and has never been with more than 7 hens, well about a week ago, he had 7 more added to his...
He is probably just an EE then, I ordered him from a hatchery. Which isn't too terrible, just makes things less easy to predict.lol I'll see if I have a picture, cracked the camera lense on my phone.
Why are ameraucanas always assumed to be just EE mixes? Are they that hard to find? I am fairly certain he is a true ameraucana he passed all sob in 4-h.
Thanks I'm hoping so.
I have a silver ameraucana roo breeding with various hens, barred rock, silver laced wyandotte, RIR, Welsummer,Blue Maran, and a really pretty easter egger that looks like a silver sebright.
