sometimes they can fight over queen of the nest but you should not be too concerned just get another box put a golf ball in there and wait somethings i have had to do is shut the other ones out at a time and let one in too lay then when she gets out repeat of course you might not have time to do...
do you live close to another farm it could be another rooster somewhere else i don't think she is a rooster seeing as how affectionate they are I could be wrong do you have any better pictures for your profile pic? that would really help but i did once have to roosters i thought one was a hen...
nevermind she looks like a hen a common way to check is by lifting the wing and spreading it out see if the wing is uneven then its most likely a boy even a girl remember this is not a full-proof plan it can be wrong
do you have a rooster the eggs would have to be fertilized to hatch and try to see where she is getting out if you have a fence you dont want her to be eaten! good luck!
Hi! sometimes when chickens get startled scared or panicked they don't lay. I can relate to the new chickens laying we have been getting new eggs too! soooooo exited
My 42 week old EE chickens have not been laying and I have no clue why we searched the area around the coop inside the coop and in the run but no eggs! please if anyone knows whats wrong I need your advice!
Just rescued my EE who was caught in the fence. She is alive but the leg is floppyish. It is night now so I'm letting her rest now. Any experience or thoughts?
This is electric poultry netting with a fairly low charge buti really do t know how long she was caught in it :( :( :(
Once I had the same problem they would not go in the coop I read on the internet and finally I found out that if you lock them in the coop for a day or two they will start to get it what try to get them in before sunset that's when the critters come out good luck
