    chickens pecking younger chickens

We had three 4 week old Welsimmer chickens get in with the bigger 6-7 weeks old chickens. They were cornered and pecked. Now they all have bloody sores on their bottoms. Has anyone else have these issues. Will they live? They seem pretty lethargic now.

Help!! Problem with my Welsummer Chicks

Quote: So Chicken Little died yesterday, right before I had to leave for work. I still had him in his own little box, and I thought he was doing so much better! He was eating and drinking more. Still a little unsteady, but it really surprised me to find him dead. It was kind of hard for me...

Help!! Problem with my Welsummer Chicks

Well we don't have a thermometer. And I wish we did! It fluctuates so much in temps lately (50-60 during the day and 30's at night) it is hard to regulate. We live quite a ways from town though. Wonder if this is a disease or problem that we can fix or prevent from happening to more chicks. Also...

Questions from a newbee on poop and temperature.

Thanks! We have a 250 watt. But I think with how windy it has been it is a little drafty. Plus we have the chicks in a kiddie pool right now. Wonder if it is too big of an area with out enough height to the walls for the one bulb and for how many chicks we have(20). We are gonna try changing...
