Oh, and as for location - we're in Colorado and hawks fly overhead constantly all day long, they'd get eaten up if we let them out beyond the run! I want to build them a big one.

How old should chicks be before they can be around older ones? Or is this possibly more about them being from different flocks?

I've been wondering if it's a little small. The coop info says it can house 10...! Which seemed true when I knew nothing about chickens, and now that I've seen how big they get I'm kind of shocked by it. I might build them something else as they grow.

It's definitely possible she could have been pecked to death. She didn't have any obvious injuries that I could see, and she definitely didn't look as scraggledy as Clementine...
The yellow was definitely feed. When we went out to get pictures just now she didn't have it on her beak anymore. :)

- is she too scaly on her comb??
- is she too red / pink?
- is the yellow just from feed?
