    *URGENT* Pecked Prolapsed Rectum

My chicken (that is more like a dog) has a prolapsed rectum, the issue is that we found it as the chickens were being put in for the night. It is bright red, we caught her pecking it and swatted away another chicken attempting to peck it. We have brought her inside, put her into a dark area...

    Sick Chicken, Green Stools

I have a sick chicken who is two years old, noticed she wasn't well yesterday. She will walk but she's unsteady, puts a wing out to steady herself while walking. Pale comb, wattle, and around eyes. She had diarrhea. She seems "fluffed" but her feathers are all laying down. I syringed her...

    Coccidiosis??

She doesn't really look puffed up. She's been laying a lot, we separated her from the other chickens and placed her in a tote with medicated crumbles and electrolyte water. She is almost two years old. She can walk as she walked around the yard a bit earlier today. She just seems unsteady...

    Coccidiosis??

After letting my chickens out to range this morning I noticed that my daughter's bantam is sick looking. She isn't moving much unless prompted. Right now she is just laying in the yard, the same spot she was in about an hour ago. She acts like her balance is off, as she will start to fall over...

    Pecked to death?? Predator?

***GRAPHIC DETAILS*** We have chicks that are 6-7 weeks old. We recently moved them from inside our house to inside the coop. We left them in the large tote that was used as a brooder so they could have a bit of shelter from our hens. Tonight we found the black sex link chick dead in the coop...

Hen losing A LOT of feathers!

Thanks everyone! My chickens are only about a year and a half old so this is my first molt, which I thought happened in the spring. She is acting fine but still worrisome to see all those feathers gone! I will increase their protein and if the temps drop too low she can sleep in the basement.

Hen losing A LOT of feathers!

One of my five hens is losing a lot of feathers! We have no idea why she's losing them but I am worried as we are heading into winter and I'm afraid she'll freeze before her feathers grow back in. Suggestions as to what could be happening and how to fix it?

    Bullied Chicken

Almost two weeks ago we brought home two new chickens. (Eater Eggers). My flock of four is horribly mean to them. I left them in view inside of a dog crate inside the coop so they could become friends. The lady at the hatchery said to sneak them in during the night and they'll hopefully wake...

Looking to change my coop bedding from pine shavings to sand. What type(s) of sand is the best or doesn't it matter? Thanks!

Two weeks post injury with infection starting

So I called the vet this AM. They had me get water soluble tetracycline. While I was picking that up, the guy at the feed store recommended this spray. http://store.vetericyn.com/index.php/wound-and-skin-care/vetericyn-wound-and-infection-16-oz-trigger-30.html I sprayed it on her as soon as I...

Two weeks post injury with infection starting

I have only been able to find Penicillin in one place, but I wasn't sure of the MG to get. And I'm nervous giving it to her. She's only about seven weeks old. I have never heard of Underwood, I will see what I can find!
