I have never seen a silkied Serama before, but we have one?

My silkie hatched these from eggs, that are from A Serama pair. (A while back) I am wondering, if one is actually silkied or if it was an accidental mixed batch? Floofy one was fluffy from day one and it was only a month or so back the floof settled to be more soft and silkie. Thank you, as...

Help me dog people! Dog psychologist needed!

Are you sure he doesn’t know his name? I have walked a dog for a few months know and at the start he acted like he didn’t know his name, or how to sit or any command at all. He was just being ignorant. And often excited. It may take time for him to realise he won’t get if he doesn’t listen, but...

Help me dog people! Dog psychologist needed!

It may be because he’s intact. I walk dogs a lot and deal with many, even if the female you have is spayed and he’s friendly she may just not want him around because he’s intact.

What did you do in the garden today?

I actually planted tons of veg, and argued with the neighbour who accused my chickens of being loud. I told her it can’t be mine I don’t have any chickens anymore and haven’t for over a week. (I do but my cameras prove they aren’t loud and she first started this when my cat pooped in her garden...

Just wanted to say im a new owner of baby coturnix quail

It could be a defect, I didn’t read all comments so apologies if this was asked, but are the eggs all from the same place? For instance when you buy them online it can be due to them being poor eggs, but it can also be if different batches, due to incubator or many many other factors! Don’t be...

I love quail! I had them years ago and would still now if I had the space. They’re great animals!

What are some good things to have in our run for silkies?

I am not much help, I have pretty laid back dull chickens. They only thing they like to do is escape their pens and venture around the garden and dig holes 😳🤣 hope you get some good ideas.

Broody Silkie successfully hatched her first chicks

Beautiful if I do say so myself 💕💕 curious as to why one is very silly and fluffy and nothing like any other serama I have ever encountered but thankfully both are female- so it’s a win win.

Broody Silkie successfully hatched her first chicks

Update, and a not so happy one. Momma accidentally killed the yellow baby- but the darker two are doing well and thriving! I can’t fault her she’s a first time mum, and baby was the same colour as the bedding. Since separating her from my other 3 large hens - her friend and guardian has...

Broody Silkie successfully hatched her first chicks

Thank you. I did move momma and babies and the two remaining unhatched eggs to a separate pen, got a little worried for a while as she was keeping the chicks warm but had abandoned the eggs at first- hoping she sits on them now she is settled a little in the new pen. She can hear the same usual...

Broody Silkie successfully hatched her first chicks

So in 2020 I posted regarding a silkie I had witness lay her first ever egg (I incubated the white Silkie and she is still my baby!) She got very broody recently for over a month and would not stop sitting on my other chickens eggs - she stopped laying- the usual. We removed the eggs as soon as...

Can a dog and chickens safely coexist in a small backyard?

My neighbour kept panicking about her cats hurting my chickens; the chickens are more harmful to the cats and the cats chase other predators away. Most animals understand family
