Thank you.
I have another question regarding my lawn. From what I have read on trying to get my lawn in shape, brown patches are from mites. Have you ever heard that? Also, while I have your attention, what do you use for the floors of your coop and run? Do you recommend sand?
I enjoy your...
He is gorgeous.
I have had five roos from time to time. I have not see an ugly one yet. They are huge.
Currently, I have one black roo, and seven hens.
I do not breed. I would not have a home for the any roos that I might hatch.
Have you ever had mites?
If so, any success with ridding them?
I anm freaked out with these gray speck like insects on my hand from going near a hen of mine. What are they, how do I help my flock, and I had her in my cement basement. Do I need to call an exterminator?
I am so worried that I might loose her. Do you think I should bring her inside, maybe a dog crate, to watch her closely. She is an Orpington, I worry she may get too warm?
thank you, you will have no regrets with an Orpington. Love them. I did not know about them taking a break so that is helpful. As far as what I feed them, at least 18% protein, DE, OCV, Rooster Booster, oyster shells, plus they have an organic backyard they visit at least a couple times a week...
this is my situation;
7 hens, 4 are over a year old. They layed eggs before, consistently, until this summer.
3 are six months old. one of them lays an egg.
one roo, six months old
they hang out together, as a flock when outside of coop in backyard
I have placed two fake eggs inside coop...
thank you.
I have the diatomaceous earth, I sprinkle/mix a pinch of it in their feed.
I have been using organic apple cider vinegar in their water. My birds are orpingtons. Their butt feathers can be poopy, is that normal?
