The barred rock is a male??? We got 3 barred rocks from tractor supply and they were supposed to be hens, they all look the same as far as tail feathers.
The leghorn and Cochin we hatched so really wasn't sure what we would end up with. But I guess tractor supply messed up

My babies figured it out! It took a couple days for all of them to figure it out. Two of the smaller ones had to be put back in the coop at night but only for a couple of nights and they figured out. I put them halfway up the ramp at night and they figured it out. Mama would stick her head out...
When should I remove the screen separating the chicks and Mama from the rest of the flock. My other girls only go in the coop to lay and go in for the night. Are they to little to be around the rest of the flock?

Ok, I did try and listen for chirping and heard nothing.
I put her and her chicks back in her crate and she laying on it now.
I will leave her for now and check later today to see if anything has changed.
