    Must You Always De-Worm?

Hi everyone, I found what I thought were a lot of round worms in on of my creme legbar's droppings about ten days ago. She sleeps separate from the rest of the flock so I'm able to easy inspect her droppings in the morning, and I have not seen any worms after that first incident. She looks very...

Can I move a not fully feathered six week chick outside?

I have always used a dirt floor but some people suggest non treated bark. If you mean inside the coop itself, I use newspaper and then pine shavings on top. It is easy to roll up the paper to clean. Good luck and have fun!

    Foaming Eyes in Chicken

Thank you. This is also very comforting to know that you have experienced this and it cleared up. I checked her this morning (we are in CA) and she looks great. I will keep her separated for another day or two and keep monitoring. Happy Easter/Passover!

    Foaming Eyes in Chicken

Hello, I have five pet chickens in our backyard. Today I noticed that my three year old easter egger has foam in the front corners of both eyes. She was also opening her beak really wide as if to "crow" but no sound came out. I googled this and her eyes looks like images i saw of chickens with...

Does Permethrin Powder Kill Lice Eggs?

Hello, I treated my chickens and their coop for a mild to medium lice and mite infestation three weeks ago, using Permethrin powder. I have not seen any live lice or mites since, but there are still a ton of lice eggs on the base of my chickens' vent area feathers. Should the permethrin have...
