This is what I suspect it is Coccidia (Coccidiasina) are a subclass of microscopic, spore-forming, single-celled obligate intracellular parasites belonging to the apicomplexan class Conoidasida.[1] As obligate intracellular parasites, they must live and reproduce within an animal cell. Coccidian...
I agree love Marans, you have some pretty girls. I live in Nevada near Death Valley and these birds are really good foragers and can handle heat. I put a baby pool out for them to wade in they like it lol
I agree about Easter Eggers, they follow me around my garden and when I say bug they come running to where I'm pointing, my Cuckoo Marans also do this. I had a Rhode Island red rooster he flogged horribly I was glad the coyotes took him, I had to carry a rake with me and he would come at me from...
I've had horses most my life and have had to deal with flies. Tried the predator about idk 12 to 15 years ago I don't know if they ever hatched, biggest difference I've seen is the fly traps bags or jars you hang and the strips, warning the bags and jar baits stink guess they are fly pheromones...
Try getting fly traps and fly strips that hang, another thing I've heard is fill sandwich bags with water and hang those.
These are the methods I know that are not poisonous, fly traps can exspensive you can buy the jars rather than the bags then reuse them with a bait.

I have always kept roosters so only time I have seen anything similar is when a chick starts developing
Cuckoo Maran , gives them this gorgeous barring
Right , I kind of thought that. Oh well still fun and gorgeous birds. Unfortunately not a lot of fairs around here.
Am starting to seriously breed these Phoenix Marans cross, really beautiful birds with decent egg laying abilities. Does anybody know about showing g birds in Nevada, can I show crossed or mix breed
I was born in New Philadelphia/Dover area but now live in Nevada, I raise our border collie Jindu mixes with our chickens if I see them start chasing a chicken they get scolded right away, most don't chase to kill though just to play. Might I suggest you get a really young pup to start with 6 to...
