You can shoot coyotes year-round if they are doing damage, so long as you have a hunting license. Question: how do we keep the chickens comfortable during the winter? I mean, I don't have to install a furnace in the coop, right? Hi :) Brand new member with zero chicken experience, brought home 8 ISA Brown chicks yesterday. My 5yo is in love with them (she wanted to sleep next to the brooder). Glad to see so many fellow Michiganders :D- PlainJane

oh good! We mentioned to my mother-in-law that we were getting chickens, and she said to get an extra couple so she can have eggs, and of course, my mom and sister want eggs too! I'm thinking I should be looking up some egg recipes :D And thank you for the chick sex reassurance!- PlainJane
