you're doing great! I've done this a few times before, about 4 times in total... i just couldn't keep my hands off. Two of my attempts (the most recent ones) were horrible though. I think i had contaminated (read: Poopy) eggs from a friend, most of the chicks died around day 18-19 in shell and...

I would like to be definite for 2 black, 2 silver, 2 wheatens (and any other wheatens above that if you don't have homes for them with a max of 4)
hopes that clarifies things... and springtime is wonderful!

Yea, i could get to Saratoga.. do you mean to say that they'll be ordered in the springtime? Do you have an approximate ordering time frame? And I'd be willing to take 2 black, 2 silver and 3 or 4 wheatens if no one else wants any..
Hi!! I just saw your post... i'm interested in a few!! I'd like the rainbow.. maybe two each of black, silver, wheaten? If that's possible... I live in Hillsborough (San Mateo County) but I go to school in Berkeley, so I could meet here or there!
well for anyone who cares, the poor guy died. I didn't know what to do, but i found from another website that it was probably a bacterial infection and now all my eggs are goners. :'(
well yeah, a few hours ago i resented cutting off the yolk, but it was stuck to the bottom of the incubator and the baby was stepping on it and it was pulling out it's insides. . . i didn't know what else to do.
I have two chicks that have hatched.. and the first had not absorbed the rest of its yolk... i was worried about what would happen when it floundered around, so i cut it off and made a gauze diaper with neosporin to help it heal a bit.. so far that chick seems to be doing well, i've also been...
i'm due today! (button quail babies...) and on the 17th/18th!! i've got cochins, plymouth rocks, hamburgs, EEs and so many more i have NO clue what they are
i just did the SAME EXACT THING, only I got quail in one bator, chicks in another... i had a stinker in the quail bator and with 30+ eggs i wasnt sure which one was the culprit... i picked em all up and sniffed em and took out the two smelliest and something in my head told me to chip away...
YES. He'll look beautiful. other than that, i have no idea... I'm waiting anxiously for my babies to hatch (any day now!!)
P.s... did he get picked on? in the second picture he's got a little wound?
just a question to clarify on what Grillo said... if you can see the airsac as obviously illuminated and everything else is shadowy, that's a GOOD egg?? and if you put the candler where the air sac should be and don't see ANY illumination, that's a BAD egg?
thanks for the help!
