Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

I guess I'll try twice daily Epsom salt soaks and see where we are in a week- at the very least, it won't hurt! Fortunately, Sick Turkey (who I may name Brine) doesn't mind the soaking, and is pretty cooperative!

Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

Alright, pictures from this morning. I soaked both feet (it was easier that way) in a warm Epsom salt bath for about 10 minutes. Fortunately, Sick Turkey didn't seem to mind! He is very happily eating, drinking, and hopping merrily around his dog crate- he's got great attitude, just doesn't...

Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

I'll get some tonight- I'm going to try an Epsom salt foot soak- at the very least, it'll clean up the feet, and I'll have a helper to hold Sick Turkey so I can get plenty of photos. I realize "limp with a green streak" isn't the most helpful description of a foot!

Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

http://www.welphatchery.com/turkeys/chocolate-turkey/ http://www.porterturkeys.com/chocolate.htm It doesn't say anything about a specific breed other than "Chocolate". I'm sorry, that's about all the information I have on breed, other than that they're considered Heritage.

Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

I was hoping it was just a Cold Turkey thing, but this morning, in the 65 degree office, Sick Turkey still can't use the foot or move the toes, though they're not stiff- I can move them, and it's not painful or difficult. I'm not sure if the blood spots are anything important- it's mostly how I...

Sick Turkey has a bum foot- but what is it?

Hey guys! Figured I'd pick the collective BYC brain and see if anyone has thoughts on what's going on with Sick Turkey. S/he's a 15 week Chocolate turkey that was laying at the bottom of the poult pile Tuesday morning, and seemed really out of it. S/he had a few spots of dried blood on the...

    Either everyone's got allergies, or...

Well, I've decided to keep the new bag of Flock Raiser, and see what that does for everybody. Hopefully it was just something with the last bag, and I didn't know what to look for in terms of a "good" or "bad" bag.

Getting ready for turkeys! Setting 6/28/12

Hey all! I'm quite excited- I ordered some Chocolate turkey eggs on Monday (and I have just been informed they arrived today!), set up the incubator to pre-heat this morning, and I'm getting ready to set the eggs tomorrow morning. My last try with turkey eggs, I set 6, got 5 to lockdown (1 was...

    Either everyone's got allergies, or...

I'm at a loss, here. I have two flocks at the moment- the "big ones" (11) are outside in the coop, and the "little ones" (4) are in my home office :) I started noticing sneezing in the big chickens about 2 weeks ago. I started acquiring them in March, and have had all of them together for 2...
