    I am stumped here, went to check the chickens yesterday and one of my hens was laying on her side panting slightly. I removed her and gave water with electrolytes and she perked up slightly but only moves her head. Seems she can't move body.

    Can someone tell me if this egg is fertile? My rooster is young and I'm not sure he's doing his job yet. I looked at others pics but I'm just not sure.

    I'm new to chickens and I hatched two chicks 16 weeks ago. One clearly is a roo but this one confuses me. Everyone said roo so far but he didn't crow or even attempt. Looks nothing like my other roo either. Opinions please......

    Thank you everyone. I love this group! Everyone is so quick to help! I'll be sure to post in a few weeks. I'm keeping fingers crossed for at least one pullet.

    They are 3 weeks old. I'm thinking left one is cockerel right pullet... Any thoughts?

    I thought about letting nature do it next time too. I stayed up for two days straight and I've been totally depressed about it.

    Yes. I didn't even open the incubator until all eggs hatched. He couldn't walk, he kept trying then falling over. I stayed up all night last night hand feeding him electrolytes. He died anyway. I'm heartbroken over it.
