    Thanks everyone for the input. I didn't realize that partridge roos & hens have different feathering patterns...good to know! I've just never seen a hen with such large comb & wattles!

    I lightened one of the pictures significantly so that you can see the comb better...you can also see the wattle just next to the finger too.

    No it is a walnut comb and very pronounced wattles as well. Maybe I will try for a better picture. This is still a young bird (7 months) but it looked to me like it has small streamers starting, but I'm still learning too, so I'm not positive.

    I checked on her tonight and when I reached under her to feel the eggs, one of them was fluffy!!!! So hopefully the other 3 will turn fluffy overnight, lol.

    I actually threw them under the hen next to her (apparently silkies all go broody at the same time ). And then she came back in a little bit later and I put the eggs back under her.
