Pullet started laying regularly and then stopped

Finally got an egg from her today! I don't know if she's been holding out or hiding and decided to lay in an easier to find spot today, but I'll take it lol.

Pullet started laying regularly and then stopped

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried leaving her in the coop longer because before it seemed like she was laying in the morning, but that hasn't worked. I guess next step is to keep her locked up 24/7 until she figures it out. I hate to do that lol. I feel so bad when they don't get to run around.

Pullet started laying regularly and then stopped

Yeah I'm thinking that's the most logical answer, but I feel like I've looked everywhere lol.

Pullet started laying regularly and then stopped

I have a young hen that I got as a pullet back in October. I'm not sure of her exact age, but she was about a month away from laying when I got her and she did start laying almost exactly a month after getting her. At first, she laid pretty regularly for a new layer and I got 1 egg every 2 or 3...

    What breed is this?

I know this is an old update, but she just started laying eggs (was on strike since I got her) and they are the traditional dark chocolate black copper marans eggs. She also has more prominent orange around her neck just like a black copper marans, so I think the mystery is solved. :)

WHAT BREED IS THIS GROCERY STORE CHICK?

This is interesting. Do they not get too cold in the store to develop?

    What breeds are these?

Thanks. I was sort of hoping she was a BO. I love those.

    What breeds are these?

I got them from a local lady, but she got them from Tractor Supply as chicks.

    What breeds are these?

Just picked up these girls today. I believe they are about 16 weeks old. I know these are not the best pics, but curious on breeds. I'm pretty sure the darker one is an Easter Egger. Not sure on the lighter one at all. She was in with a group of RIRs, but she seems too light for that. What do...

Free ranging when you know there are predators around

Thank you! This may be something I need to look into.

Free ranging when you know there are predators around

They are a year old, but we've only had them since Saturday. We don't have a rooster since they aren't allowed here.

Free ranging when you know there are predators around

How do you all free range when you know there have been predators around or is that just not possible? I've only had my chickens a few days but I really want to give them some free range time, especially since our run is not huge. We want to build onto it eventually, but in the meantime, letting...

How can you tell if chickens are stressed (when they aren't laying)

Thanks! I think I'm just excited but definitely focusing on those things.

How can you tell if chickens are stressed (when they aren't laying)

I just got my 4 chickens on Saturday. I know I haven't had them very long, but I've gotten no eggs yet and they are about a year old so they've been laying (according to their previous owner). I understand that a new environment can cause stress, but they don't "seem" stressed to me. I also...

    What breed is this?

That would make sense because I know the guy I got them from has Orpingtons. I got an Orpington from him that actually is one.
