WHAT BREED IS THIS GROCERY STORE CHICK?

UPDATE: Well Frankie actually ended up being a female. 18 weeks old now.Feathered in completely white though it’s a pale cream color and not a pure white. She should be laying any day, just started squatting.
Never heard back from the egg producer but I am still assuming she is a second generation red sex link, likely Rhode Island red and white rock.😊View attachment 2396914
AHHHH 😍 Thanks for the update! How fun!

What made you incubate store eggs? I'm just curious how you knew to incubate them. I always figured store eggs were laid by hens that had no access to a rooster
I actually just needed the carton for some other eggs I was incubating and I saw there were fertilized eggs in the store so I bought them and put them in the incubator on a whim!😊

I didn't know they sold fertilized eggs in a store! Interesting

So if you breed 2 sex links, I know they don't make another sex link because they don't breed true & you won't know it's sex by it's color - so is it a just considered a mix at that point?
Yes it would be a mix at this point. Sex link only is valid for the first generation.😊
Technically there’s no such thing as second generation sex link but that’s my way of defining what her parentage is.😊
I think the term is an F2 (or maybe F1?) cross... maybe?
