Only did it when strangers came by . Never to me . I saw a video of angry duck on YouTube and it was of a female duck guarding her eggs and she made the same huff hiss like sound from her w no beak being open .

My pekin niblet is I would guess 3-4 weeks old .... He or she saw my mom walk in and talk to me like stand two feet away and randomly stood up straight ... Eyed her and made this huff huff nostril like sound repeatedly ... My bf asked me a week prior if the ducking was ok cause he heard some...

Oh and forgot ... Didn't use styrofoam after one night ... Got a bowl for him or her to use . I got straw for bedding now is they best? My feed store said it was ....

Thanks for the response ;) how much a day is sufficient for bonding ? I spend a hour to two hours at a time a couple times a day is that too less?

Thanks to the both of you....the duckling is at my boyfriends house and his mom has put the duckling in a large tank with heat source and water and food....the problem with the bonding thing is...there will be other people holding and interacting with it so, i'm not so sure on the bonding with...
