Why did my polish chick die?
My brooder temps are perfect, I'm actually proud of myself for it. But you're most likely right. She was the smallest she just might not have been strong enough/ok internally. She was completely ok with no symptoms of anything so I don't think it was anything major but I'll still keep an eye on...- Quailcks

Why did my polish chick die?
I had a little polish chick named Copper that I bought a few days ago along with 4 other chicks from a small backyard breeder. They were all fine and dandy till I woke up this morning and found Copper dead. Anyone know what could've caused this?:(- Quailcks

What breed is this pullet?
One of Ideal's most popular breeds is their Production Reds which are a RIR & New Hampshire mix. Maybe that's what they are, I've never had Hampshires so I'm not very familiar with what they look like.- Quailcks

What breed is this pullet?
We ordered 25 mixed breed pullet chicks from Ideal hatchery; we got RIRs, Silver laced Wyandottes, and Buff Orpingtons. I don't know what theses girls are though and we have a couple of them. I'm thinking maybe some kind of sex link or New Hampishire but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?- Quailcks

Hatching Question. Please help!
Yeah that's why I waited so long but I couldn't bear to watch them just fade away. I raise my quail on the ground so maybe that'll help some. If it can make it to 6-7 weeks I will process it. -

His legs and toes seemed flat and yes his toes were curled. I can imagine it's because I didn't help soon enough -

I helped them half way. The yolk was fully absorbed, their membranes still moist and flexible, and the veins had receded. The yellow chick died though a few hours later, it's legs were deformed (anyone know why?) but the brown chick seems pretty ok so far. Fingers crossed. -

These two have been like this for 2 days, the temp and humidity are fine but they haven't gotten much farther than this for 48 hours. They're still alive but I don't know when I should start considering helping them...
