Hello
I would like to get a female ringneck dove companion for my male. I live in arkansas and i don't find a dove breeder here. And i've searched online, asked my veterinarian and friends if they know of one.
I won't get one shipped to me after 2 bad experiences. I live in a town of 2000...
Thank you. i am trying different brands of kitten food. she likes live mealworms as a treat. she’s active and vocalizing so i think she will be ok. just a little picky. 😉
i have a starling bird. she’s become picking about her wet high protein kitten food.
there are flavor additives for dog food.
i thought maybe someone who knows poultry and other birds might know of a safe additive. thanks
i give my 2 button quails a pinch of bird grit every day. it's the mineral-oyster shell grit i give my ringneck doves, except that i grind it up into smaller bits.
my buttons each lay one egg every day.
how much grit should they get?
i found out the hard way that cothurnix and button quail don't get along. my buttons didn't get seriously hurt, but one little button got some of her feathers plucked out:((
even my 2 buttons don't get along. i have them in separate cages.
but every bird has its own personality, so there may...
my baby finches are doing well. maybe you saw their picture posted on this forum yesterday? they are so cute and i will enjoy them as long as i can:) thanks for your reply- sorry about your baby finches.
hi Susie Q, Abby and Anny,
i don't have names for them- i call them "babies" so i would love to have your girls suggest names. there is one male, the regular color with cheek patch. the other light tan one is probably female. none of my parent finches were tan. funny how God works it out.
i am...
dear two crows,
thank you so much for the compliment! i love my quail, but some don't understand my love. i think the feed store people think i'm a little cuckoo for buying a 20# of gamebird food because they know i only have 1 cothurnix . but the large bags are factory sealed. buying by the...
for my quails i give them these little plush nests meant for small mammals. each of my quail, 2 button and 1 cothurnix live in separate cages and these nests are where they sleep. i think it is a substitute for a cage mate warmth -wise. they look so cute!
i try to set up my cages with each...
thanks for your comments. i have my little flightless finches in a cage designed for their needs. i have a natural small branch ( actually store-bought ;) a piece of plush (bird cozy) and i have a plastic canary nest, hanging sideways. i put panti liners in these nests, they are self- sticking...
hello,
sorry to hear about your bird with tumors. i am learning genetics play a big part in the cause of deformities, i have 2 young zebra finches that hatched here at my home. the two can not fly. they also have one foot with no toenails and the other foot is normal. they each have the same...
hi,
i will attempt to upload 2 pictures of the deformed beak. i am not too computer literate, so i can't always upload photos.
the ones of i have are blurry. buttons are pretty squirmy!
