    The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

*EDIT* Turns out I was right, Olive is actually Oliver :barnie Hello, apologies I know this gets asked all the time, but I'm having trouble sexing my Khaki Campbell. I lost 2 of my ducks a couple of months ago to a fox, so got 2 more to keep my remaining duck company, believing they were both...

    Fox Attack, lone survivor

Thank you for your replies. Would it be better to wait a few days until she's stronger or is it a case of the sooner the better? They were outside in their pen, it's been unseasonably hot here recently so I left them out of their house (which I've done before when it's been this warm), we live...

    Fox Attack, lone survivor

Looking for some urgent advice please. Absolutely devastated that 2 out of my 3 ducks have been killed by what appears to be a fox. Rosie was already sleeping when I went to them this morning, and Jasper was too poorly to be saved and the vet put her to sleep. Lily has a small injury but was...

Would a drake calm noisy hens?

I think their shouting could be to attract attention, sometimes they see me in the kitchen and start shouting :duc They are nearly 2 now

Would a drake calm noisy hens?

So my 3 White Campbell girls are driving my partner mad. They are back yard duckies, I love them dearly, but my fella is after their blood at the moment! They are incredibly noisy at times. I always make sure they have fresh water, access to feed, grit, a pond, and I hang up greens for them to...

    Wet feather

Update: possible false alarm, she is currently preening herself from her gland with her sisters this morning after spending a toasty night in the bathroom!

    Wet feather

One of my girls is behaving strangely. It's been really wet here in England and I'm worried she might have wet feather. She was excessively preening when I got home from work, so I brought her in and she was soaked. I've given her a warm bath and she's in my bathroom keeping warm for the night...

    Is this bumblefoot?

I'm in the UK and really struggling to get my hands on clear iodine, I can order white iodine (same thing?) online, but I called every chemist within about 10 miles and no-where stocks it. Is there a reason it specifically has to be clear? I've soaked it in Epsom Salts and sprayed a bit of...

    Is this bumblefoot?

Thanks @Miss Lydia , she was quite a good girl and stood still for me in the sink before, so hopefully she'll be well behaved throughout the treatment! I've read up about bumblefoot, is it necessary to wrap her food as others have suggested, or is this more for after the pus has come out and /...

    Is this bumblefoot?

Noticed my girl Lily limping today, checked her leg for obvious injuries, it all feels ok and not hot to touch, but found this on the underside of her foot, does it look like bumblefoot? She's only just started today so think it could be the early stages of it?

***UK RESIDENTS - BIRD FLU ADVICE***

@DancingWthDucks you're right - I'm probably over thinking it! I think it's just been a tense situation being in the waiting game for a while. My girls are dying to play out now!

***UK RESIDENTS - BIRD FLU ADVICE***

According to the advice on DEFRA's website I've been reading this morning, you should be making every effort to make your garden unattractive to wild birds, and discourage them from using any bodies of water. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/avian-influenza-bird-flu-in-winter-2016-to-2017...
