Thank you! Just did the clean up and inspection. It was just hanging up on the tail feathers. Every thing looked good other wise. But it did make me think why is it not clearing now? So thank you for the input on the deworming. Ill need to look into that. And just keep watching.
Thank you again
Chickens have been laying eggs about three weeks now, switched their food over two and a half weeks ago. Today had one soft shell egg and then one hen walked right in front of us, no sounds , and just laid an egg and walked off. This egg seems to have a huge yoke but no shell. What's going?
New to raising chickens, our three are roughly 7-8 weeks old, one of them is now making "chicken sounds" that appear to be more rooster like... How can I tell? Do they all try to crow? "She is an Americana " at least that's what I was told. Any input welcome.
One of my chicks, (about 5 weeks) has a crooked toe. Just noticed it today so I don't know if its an injury or developmental thing. She eats drinks just fine but is clumsy with perching and doesn't roam as eagerly as the other two. I saw it today because she kept trying to jump up on the perch...
Any advice? I'm not sure if it is a new injury (don't see anything that looks wounded ) or if it a developmental thing. But she didn't seem to take advantage of the free roam time this morning like the others. She just kept trying the perch & balance
One of our chicks has a crooked toe! I thought she was just clumsy because her feet are so big but one of her toes is turned out ,almost up. She seems to struggle with jumping up on the perch like she can't get her balance. Do I need to worry about this? Can I do anything for it? I feel bad that...
Our family is new to raising chickens. We have proudly added 3 chicks to our home
A black sex link, australorp , and an Americana. They are 2-3 weeks old and doing great! Now we need to just keep learning. And refrain from getting more. They are addictive!
