Rooster's tail looked droopy, then he died - Now another rooster has a droopy tail

Thank you. I'm going to separate the second rooster when I get home and take your advice to start treating the birds.

He's acting completely normal. Eating, drinking, etc. He still seems playful with the other rooster and hens. The other rooster didn't look sick either.

The subject pretty much says it all. One of our rooster's had a fairly droopy looking tail. We had just had several snow storms so we thought he was probably wet, but then when we went to feed one morning, he was gone :(. Now another one of our roosters isn't looking to good, same droopy...

    Icelandic Chickens

I'm sorry you lost a few of yours as well. Gunnar was 18 wks, and has been free ranging for about 3 weeks. We lock them in every night as well.

    Icelandic Chickens

While I was out (mid morning) yesterday, my husband heard a shriek and then noticed one of our cockerels, Gunnar, was missing. We searched everywhere for him, and he didn't come home last night. I'm guessing something got him. RIP Gunnar :(

Greta gave us her second egg today, she's 18 weeks old. Such a tiny little egg! Here is Greta, with floppy crowned Gunnar in the background.

    Icelandic Chickens

I was wondering how to describe it! It's such a funny sound. We have 4 more that look like roosters, but only this one has started to crow.
