That's a brilliant idea. It reminds me of those air freshener bags for cars. Also, what about citronella candles? pestcontrolhacks.com says some of them can be used both indoors and outdoors. They contain citronella oil and no chemical pesticides, what do you think about those?- Ralph101

cockroaches in the chicken coop???
I would suggest temporary moving chickens to another coop and call an exterminator. Or according to this page you could spread Advion or Syngenta granules both inside and outside, then you should wait for 10 days. Hope it helps.- Ralph101
