For any Canadians ( or u.s. people that live close to Canada and don't mind yellow tape) there is DC heritage hatchery in Quebec that breeds la feche. ... Unfortunately I am not Canadian and don't handle yellow tape well.
Their not all hens... I have 4 fulltime roosters tyvm, about 60 (15brahmas, 15 jerseys, 15 Cochin, 15 orloff) fulltime layers and the rest are mixed bunch we dont pay much attention to untill we need meat or when it's breeding time. On a side note I really want to ade la felches to that list...
It's not so bad, have a mobile coop with one of those portable electric pultry fences (only turned on at nite) on 20 acres of pasture. No egg hunting here either... What they don't lay in the roll out nest boxes or hatch gets left for the scavengers when we move the coop.
