    Looks like a hen to me, there are no streamers, and most likely if it was a cockerel at that age he would have them. My silkie started laying at about 6 months, so you may know soon. But mine are bearded, so it may be different.

    From what I understand, barred rock females have gray streak on the fronts of their legs, and males will have double barring, their pattern will be black on white, and the female will be white on black. My cuckoo Karan’s look like they have spots or speckles where the barred rocks will look like...

    In the one about Sprite? The blue one is Sprites, the greenish one is the same as pictured in Cleo's eggs as the greener one is hers, the first one she laid. I put it next to Sprites to see the color difference.

    My EE Sprite laid very pretty eggs, but she passed away recently, and my family was very sad. She gave hugs and I raised her from two days old. I was there when they brought the chicks in from the post.

    So, I bought Cleo as an Ameraucana from the local feed store, she lays eggs on the C level of the Ameraucana egg color chart, but I am not sure if she is actually an ameraucana. Please let me know what you think.
